Week 27: Laugh More Often!

I want to continue to review all that we have accomplished. We have continued to eliminate negative thinking, label read, recognize the importance of breathing, add positive affirmations into our daily lives, eliminate high fructose corn syrup (fructose as well) & dyes from our diet, sit in silence within nature for 30 minutes a day, set goals in our lives, eliminate preservatives from the diet, practice forgiveness, offer an attitude to gratitude, drink a glass of water each morning before we put anything into our bodies, offer more love to others in our life, eat more raw foods, let go of preconceived ideas, be impeccable with our word, drink half our body weight in ounces of water, made a personal mission statement, rest for 20 minutes a day, eliminate sugar & sugar substitutes, not take things personally, look for the positive in others, take a 30 minute walk every day, find our own personal truth, practice being better listeners, reduce our daily meat consumption overall and this week we are going to laugh more often.

Laughing is one of the most healing things we can have in our life. After losing my daughter Sophia, I was blessed to rekindle the flame of an old, lost love of mine. Once of the things that I had always loved about him was how much he made me laugh. We always had such a fun & playful relationship because it was centered around laughter. Throughout healing myself in losing my daughter, his constant ways to make me laugh or bring a smile to my face reminded me of the lightness life can offer & also show me the heaviness that life can also bring. I was able to shift such heaviness the more and more I laughed with him and Eva. Till this day, he makes me laugh and always uplifts my spirits and now with Lily in our lives, she is a character just like her father. We all laugh daily at her shenanigans.

I know you have heard the saying, “Laughter is the best medicine.” This is very true! It is true because when we laugh, we are more centered in love emotion versus fear. We can shake fear and stress off leaving more room for love. This emotional energetic shift can create the following changes in us through laughter: boosts the immune system, relaxes the whole body, releases endorphins, protects the heart, burns calories, lightens anger’s heavy load and may even help you live longer! A life worth laughing through seems more like a life worth living to me.

Studies show that even watching comedy can help change someone’s health for the better. There are many ways that we can try to laugh. Scheduling activities and down tie with the family is one, going to a stand-up comedy show or funny movie is another. Calling a friend that always cheers you up is a great way too. There is even something called laughter yoga and laughter therapy. People are finding the true value in laughter and making a profession out of it. There are countless ways to induce more laughter in your life. Just see how many places you can include it and how your life will start to lighten!

Best of luck as you continue this transformative journey! I know that each week we are all closer to a more whole, happier version of ourselves. Give yourself a hug or pat on the back for all your weeks of hard work!
